Rock en Seine

I have always enjoyed attending concerts. Growing up in the midwest, one of the biggest music festivals that would happen every year was Lollapalooza. Every year a bunch of friend would get together and trek together to the city hosting the concert. I went to the first Lollapalooza when Pearl Jam was the headlining band. Remember them? Well, needless to say that was a long time ago….

Being a new tea house owner, I find that I don’t have much time to attend concerts like I’m used to. The last concert I went to was early last year before my son was more >>

"I have a vernissage* at the Palais de Tokyo tonight." Mélusine pauses to examine me for a moment. "I think it will be fun. Why don’t you come?"

I don’t know Mélusine. I met her for the first time today. She’s a curator and owner of an art gallery  I wandered into this morning, near the mysterious hotel. I meet her there again in the evening before taking a taxi to the Palais.

Dear Readers,

It is with the uttermost pleasure that I can share with you an information from the highest importance : the Real Paris is back. First we lost in the Euro game, very important thing. I mean, France and football losses are business as usual, the 1998 World Cup was really an incident. Of course we have the best players in the world, we also have the most intelligent coach, but we loose, that is as normal as the sun rising East. And then, well the fashion shows are back, and it becomes again a fantastic experience just to hang around the catwalks, especially when it come to Galliano gorgeous more >>

I’m addicted to Pere et Filles, a bistrot in the 6th arrondissement at 81 rue de Seine.

First off it’s delicious. My last visit for lunch I ordered the formule du jour which was an entree of steamed leeks shaped into a sort of nest with a poached egg, and dusted with spices and cured beef. The plat was perfectly grilled veal with a sweet honey sauce, puree of sweet potatoes and spinach. The portions were huge and washed down with a chilled bottle of Morgon wine. Yum.

I haven’t sampled their desserts yet, but every dish I’ve had has been absolutely delicious. Their fish is always fresh as well, so consider more >>

Bio is the term the French use for Organic. It is short for Biologique. Since I have started to sell my homemade baked goods or dessert maison as we say in French. I am searching out the best ingredients for my cookies, cakes and scones. I wanted to share a few address with of place I search out mes produits bio and while you’re in Paris if you’re looking for something specifically organic perhaps this will send you in the right direction.

I enjoy the the organic grocery chain called BioCoop. There are five BioCoop locations in Paris. I shop at the one at Metro Glacière in the 13th more >>

China: so big and crazy it’s hard to even think about it. Olympics, human rights and the sea change of the global job market are all hot topics in France but for the more aesthetically inclined, it’s good to see China from the artist’s perspective.
